A Sustainable Fashion Show & Clothes Swap Event
Do you love fashion and cool clothes? And do you love our planet and second-hand shopping? Come to our FASHION SHOW for inspiration and find your new favorite item at our CLOTHES SWAP. Circular Fashion - fair and sustainable!
Every second of every day the equivalent of one full garbage truck of clothes gets burned or dumped in a landfill (UNEP, 2018).
Isn’t that reason enough to overthink our fast fashion consumption and start re-using, re-styling and re-loving our outfits?
Svalorna Indien Bangladesh, Circle Centre and Hållbart Universitet invite you to a Sustainable Fashion Show and Clothes Swap event!
We want to inspire you to wear more pre-loved outfits by presenting our favorite styles from Svalorna’s Second-Hand Shop and give you the opportunity to exchange your “nice, but don’t wear it anymore” with “wow, my new favorite item”!
We start at 17:00 with a short welcoming to the event before we start off with the Fashion Show. At 17:45 we invite to a fika and mingle break before we then start the Clothes Swap at 18:00. The Clothes Swap will go on until 20:00 and during that time the Second-Hand Shop is open as well for purchasing the Fashion Show outfits or some other treasure. If you have clothes you want to donate, you can leave them in our container outside of the store. Benefits from the Second-Hand Shop are directly going to Svalorna’s work.
Not convinced yet?
The water used by the fashion industry annually could cover the water needs of 5 million people (UNCTAD, 2020) … Shop circular, swap clothes!
About the hosts:
Svalorna Indien Bangladesh:
For over 60 years, Svalorna have worked to fight poverty and the causes that create oppression and exclusion. We work together with those who themselves are affected by poverty and injustice - where the change is most needed. We believe in a change where people themselves get the opportunity to influence their lives and the society they live in. That is the path to sustainable and fair development.
Svalorna have their office here in Lund and are running the Svalorna Second-Hand Shop with the help of volunteers.
You can support Svalorna as a member, volunteer, donator – and second-hand shop customer!

Circle Centre:
Circle Centre was founded to address the problem of overconsumption, which leads to degradation of environmental resources, poor working conditions, and excess waste.
We believe that by starting a Library of Goods with items that we do not need everyday, we can start changing the idea of ownership. We aim to promote more cultural consumption, rather than the material consumption of goods.
As a part of this movement, we also host open educational events and hands-on workshops focused on sustainable living and reuse. Additionally, by offering a common workspace, we aim to foster a tight-knit community of Lund where people can share not just goods, but ideas and skills as well.

Hållbart Universitet:
Hållbart Universitet (HU) is a non-profit organisation that is politically and religiously independent. We are active in and around Lund University. Our purpose is to strengthen and coordinate student engagement in environmental issues and sustainability.
Our core activities include but are not limited to organising and hosting events and workshops with our partner organisations, sharing sustainability-related information via social media, our website, and our newsletter, coordinating the work with our partner organisations, and expanding our collaborations. Through this, we want to create a space for open discussions and new ideas in order to promote sustainable development.
