Join us on the Ukrainian dish, Kvashena Kapusta pickled cabbage making workshop. Pickling is one of the food saving and preserving methods. Collaboration event of Food Saving Lund and Lund Matvaru kooperativ as part of Lund Sustainability week
Kvashena Kapusta is a classic Ukrainian dish that is similar to sauerkraut. It's a typical winter dish and they turn it into soup for Christmas.
Come and join us to learn how to make this fresh and tasty dish. This fermentation process is the most ancient yet the best way of food preservation.
We would like to share with you how to make this fresh, crispy and tasty kvashena kapusta. If you would like to take some home, bring some jar or container with lids.
The event is free of charge and part of Lund Sustainability week. We look forward to seeing you!

Food Saving Lund is an organization run by a group of people fighting against food waste by doing regular food pick-ups in & around Lund, storing it in food banks & sharing it among the community, as well organizing workshops & social events to raise awareness towards the environmental challenge of food waste. Lund Matvarukooperative is a member run cooperative that delivers fresh, organic, local food at an affordable price while supporting local producers to improve sustainable food production and consumption.

This event is part of Sustainability Week 2023, 17-22 April, an annual event organised in collaboration between Lund University and Lund Municipality. This year, over 60 lectures, guided tours, exhibitions, and more are arranged.
