Sustainable mobility and climate-neutral cities: How can we achieve this together?
What role does mobility and transport play for EU cities that aim to become climate-neutral by 2030? How can Copenhagen, Lund, Malmö and Helsingborg work together to make urban mobility more sustainable? Join us for an event with participants from all four cities to learn, share insights and co-develop new methods for regional collaboration.
What role does mobility and transport play for EU cities that aim to become climate-neutral by 2030? How can Copenhagen, Lund, Malmö and Helsingborg work together to make urban mobility more sustainable and become leaders on the climate agenda?
The EU Mission of “100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030” has set an ambitious goal for Europe’s green urban transition. But if the mission is to succeed, the cities must collaborate much more closely on solving issues related to urban mobility, which accounts for 40% of all CO2 emissions from road transport and up to 70% of other pollutants from transport.
As the Öresund Region’s four mission cities work towards climate-neutrality, they encounter challenges and opportunities that are sometimes city-specific, sometimes common. To limit the risk of duplicating efforts and to free up resources for other challenges, we have invited city officials from Copenhagen, Lund, Malmö and Helsingborg to join forces, share insights on common challenges and co-develop new methods for regional collaboration.
The event will be in two parts: First, a public event with a keynote speech from the European Commission followed by a panel discussion with speakers from all four cities; second, a closed-door workshop for participants to co-develop new methods for regional collaboration.
This event is aimed at city officials, industry representatives, researchers, consultants and everyone who works on topics related to urban mobility and climate mitigation.
