In this science - citizen dialogue, we will initiate an open and inclusive discussion on the role of civil society, researchers, and students, in catalyzing the societal changes that the IPCC tells us that we must realize to have a livable future. The event is roughly outlined as follows:

Initial talks (30 min) 

• The climate and ecological crisis – Where are we now and where are we heading? 
• The role of ordinary people in catalyzing the deep societal changes?

Discussion in small groups about the content of the presentations (10-15 minutes)

Group discussion (45 minutes)

The event is organised by researchers from Lund University and members from Scientist Rebellion, and is hosted by LUCSUS.

Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies (LUCSUS) is a sustainability centre for research, teaching and impact who work to understand, explain, and catalyse social change and transformations in relation to material limits in the biosphere.

Scientist Rebellion is an international movement of scientists and academics calling on our colleagues and institutions to join the youth, most affected peoples and the wide climate movement on the frontlines to spark the urgent changes needed to avert climate disaster.

This event is part of Sustainability Week 2023, 17-22 April, an annual event organised in collaboration between Lund University and Lund Municipality. This year, over 60 lectures, guided tours, exhibitions, and more are arranged.
