Sustainability Week 2020: Pre-meeting for student organisations
Time has come for the fourth annual sustainability week at Lund University! Sustainability Forum wants as many parts of Lund's thriving student organisations to participate, since we know you will make the week smarter, more inclusive and more fun.
That's why we're inviting you to a start-up meeting. We will brief you on what help we can provide and how the week is structured. Then we'll do a informal workshop to come up with new, interesting ideas for events during sustainability week. It's a chance to meet new collaborators and host events which will reach outside your regular circle.
Some quick info on the week. It's between 20-25 April 2020. It engages academics, businesses, civil society and students in an effort to collectively tackle some of society's most pressing sustainability issues. Previous years we've had between 3000-4000 visitors. This year, sustainability forum will have an extra focus on net-zero emissions (what it means, where the 'net' comes from, how/if we get there), sustainable land use (how to best use available land for agriculture, forestry, housing etc.), housing (social sustainability aspects, right to housing, thriving neighbourhoods, human rights in cities) and how to finance the transition (local currencies, tax havens etc.). There is no requirement to arrange events within these themes, but the more diverse perspectives on these issues the better!
Please share this to other student organisations in your network (whether they explicitly work on sustainability issues or not). And if you can't wait until January to start planning - please do get in touch with me at ludwig [dot] bengtssson_sonesson [at] cec [dot] lu [dot] se.
